About Me

Over the past 25 years I have worked in many areas including mental health, cancer care, specialized services for people with disabilities, trauma recovery, and employee & family assistance programs (EFAP).  I am happy to work with other professionals or other members of your support network if that is appropriate.

I have my Master’s degree in Counselling (M.Ed.) from the University of Victoria (2000); a degree in Special Education; and am a “Canadian Certified Counsellor” (CCC) with the Canadian Counselling & Psychotherapy Association www.ccpa-accp.ca .  As a life-long learner I continue to update my skills & training on an ongoing basis.

I seek to have a relaxed, informal setting, working collaboratively with people to create a sense of safety.

The therapeutic approaches that inform my work include Self Regulation Therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, systems theory, and expressive therapies.  Self Regulation Therapy (SRT) is a non-cathartic mind-body approach.  Visit the Canadian Foundation for Trauma Research & Education (CFTRE) website for more information at www.cftre.com
